the bread is rising

Home made bread saves money both at its production and in the long run. Using fresh ingredients will cost less than a store-bought loaf. The bread which results will be nutritious and tasty, with endless variety. Many people fear that making bread is a long and complicated process. Instead you will find it leisurely and relaxing, requiring attention for short periods of time throughout the process. Adding bread baking to your routine will reap health and economic benefits for years to come.
Homemade bread is much cheaper, once you invest in the ingredients, a couple of pans and baking sheets. Even using organic whole grain flour, bread will cost about $1.67 a loaf.
It’s quite obvious but baking your own bread is a lot healthier for you than buying a loaf from the supermarket. For a start you are the one putting in the ingredients and if you can’t trust yourself then who can you trust.
Say goodbye to breads that contain the likes of chemical additives, hydrogenated oils, unhealthy preservatives and sweeteners. Instead welcome in the freshness of eggs, flour and our old favourite, nutrition!

Burgerville

Why do i drive all the way out to Albany Oregon (15 miles) instead of going down the street to say MC Donald's. Which is GROSS. In fact I hate fast food, which sucks because I love cheeseburgers. But the burgers at Burger king taste like shit! Good news folks, here in the Pacific Northwest we have this wonderful fast food restaurant call Burgerville!
Burgerville focuses on being a healthy and Eco-friendly fast food chain. The 39 restaurants in the chain use locally produced foods, use biodegradable containers, do food composting, and use only wind power credits for their energy use. And they have 2 different homemade veggie burgers that were both very tasty.
At Burgerville you get local, vegetarian-fed and antibiotic-free beef in their burgers, cage-free eggs in their breakfast items and their salads feature mixed greens with sustainable, local ingredients such as smoked salmon and Oregon hazelnuts. Check out the full menu
Have kids? With healthful choices like apple slices and local, hormone-free milk, Burgerville Kids Meals make a great choice for parents. And, kids love the fun, educational, safe toys. Currently, they are featuring a collectible series of cups and bowls that have been designed and produced in the USA by local artists using recycled materials.
Recycle? Association of Oregon Recyclers, Recycler of the Year- Company/Organization
Burgerville was selected as a recipient of this year’s award. Burgerville Rolls Out Composting And Recycling Program To All 39 Restaurants, Pacific Northwest’s signature quick service restaurant sets goal to divert 85 percent of company waste from landfill through new program and innovations in material delivery through supply chain.

“Don’t Believe in God? You Are Not Alone”

Get out of the closet!

Religion has actually convinced people that there's an invisible man living in the sky who watches everything you do, every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do.

More than ever, America’s atheists are linking up and speaking out

even in South Carolina, home to Bob Jones University, blue laws and a legislature that last year unanimously approved a Christian license plate embossed with a cross, a stained glass window and the words “I Believe” (a move blocked by a judge and now headed for trial).

“It’s not about carrying banners or protesting,” said Herb Silverman, a math professor at the College of Charleston who founded the Secular Humanists of the Lowcountry, which has about 150 members on the coast of the Carolinas. “The most important thing is coming out of the closet.”

Polls show that the ranks of atheists are growing. The American Religious Identification Survey, a major study released last month, found that those who claimed “no religion” were the only demographic group that grew in all 50 states in the last 18 years.

dinner choices

As most of you know that I was a cook in my past life, um... I mean before kids. Or a chef, for the Gordon Ramsey fans. I do not love to cook as most cooks do. I love to create. So technically I'm an artist and my muse is say chicken or a lovely broccoli. My best talent is spices. This is the problem I have with my food, for the most part i don't really care for meat. My Mom raised me Veg for over a decade and I ate a lot of beans and cheese, and yes, I was a gassy child. Meat is so strange to me, almost alien. It is just easy, so I usually end up cooking it. I do love sausage, probably because it's hard to identify. Fish I can do, but Pat doesn't like it. Also my stomach is VERY sensitive. Almost anything cooked hurts it. BAD. I have been to countless Doc's and honestly they don't know anything. If i could i would get rid of my taste buds and blend all the good food up and drink it every day.
Weird I know, the reason I haven't is in all honesty one word, Chocolate. YUM! Can't live with out it. I consume it every day.

I would love to indulge.

This has got to be the most over the top opening credits i have ever seen. Totally absurd and downright hilarious.
You can (should) fast forward till 3:53, VERY stupid. The show is a reality based one of the same sorts as say Survivor. But with young MTV generation "Hotties" Very silly, mucho drama. We don't have cable so...

sweet little calico cat Corinna

I have 3 cats, one was my husbands from before we started dating, she's like 15 now or something. Crabby. Sleeps all day. Sweet though. And very healthy. The other two are relatively new, Corinna my little abandoned in a box under a blanket in 100 degree weather one. Levi the crazy frisky, growing VERY fast white with gray spots one. Oh, and he is a lap cat for sure.
And our doggie named Annie. She's the perfect family dog, loves to play and loves the kids all kids really.
Corinna is my hunter, she catches birds and mice every day. It's a little much, but it's a sweet gift i guess. We adopted all our pets from shelters and would never get a pet any other way. In fact it is a secret fantasy of mine to run an animal shelter. I would go out everyday in my Rescue van and pick up strays. Find them love, warm home and food. And spay or neuter them of course.
I love pets, more then most people. Did i just say that? Dogs are so awesome, so friendly and loving and affectionate.
Cats are a little different. Take for instance our Corinna, sweet tiny little tortoiseshell. She was the runt and didn't have the best start in life. But she is so sweet and loves a good petting. She is also hot tempered and does not like sitting in laps. She is very independent. Sophie named her. She loves that song!
We got her after my big orange tabby "Herbie" ran away to join his forest friends of the wet-lands. At least that's what i have to tell my self. He's the first cat i ever had that just disappeared. I realize he was probably hit by a car or attacked by coyotes. But i am pretty "romantic" ideas. Fantasies. I always lie to my self to keep from falling apart and crying. I am very attached to people and pets. And i take along time to get over death. I take a long time to get to know people too. I am still grieving over my Bean who i lost in 2004, the same year i lost my Mother. And yes, still grieving over that too.

"uhhhh, you know... They believe in public education and roads... stuff like that."

An Alabama congressman told local officials this week that he's worried about the number of socialists in Congress, and he put the number already there at 17. "Some of the men and women I work with in Congress are socialists," Rep. Spencer Bachus, the top Republican on the Financial Services Committee.
Spencer Bachus started the day in Trussville, where he treated a breakfast of municipal and county leaders to his thoughts on guns, socialists and the federal budget.
U.S. Rep. Spencer Bachus, spoke to city and county officials at a breakfast in Trussville today. As for President Barack Obama, the Vestavia Hills Republican said he has "some hope."
"He's a better listener than George W. Bush," Bachus said. "He tries to get ideas from people."
But he said he is worried that he is being steered too far by the Congress: "Some of the men and women I work with in Congress are socialists."
Asked to clarify his comments after the breakfast speech at the Trussville Civic Center, Bachus said 17 members of the U.S. House are socialists.
Bachus did not support small city officials who asked if he would oppose all gun bans. Instead, he said, it may be necessary to support some assault weapon bans in order to keep all guns from being outlawed.
