The Oregon State University's Sheep Center has opened their doors to the public The center has around 200 to 250 ewes with several hundred lambs expected to be added to the population in the coming weeks. And i have to say they are very cute. We took Grandma, Great Grandma Hilda De La Montanya who was visiting me and the kids while Patrick was in Alaska. We drove to the Research center up on a huge hill, we enjoyed our self so much we went twice. She loved the babies. Took a lot of pictures. Some of them were tooooo cute. Patrick's Grandmother came all the way on the train from the Sacramento area. All by her self. She is such a nice lady, and she has told me she knows i don't get visits from my family, since my Mom and Grandmother have passed on, she feels it is her duty to come keep me company. I like to think she likes me too. She sews the whole time she's here. I cook for her and we go around town. We hang out and bond i suppose. It's nice to have her. I miss doing things with my Grandmother.
I got a great deal on some VCT (Vinyl composite tile) at the Habitat for Humanity store here in Corvallis. .10 cents a piece. We got them to install in our carpeted dining room. Yes, i said the dining room was carpeted. Finally i couldn't take it any more and with a HUGE help from our Buddy, Gavi (Wonder-Woman) We went to town, removed the particle board sub-floor and re-placed it with plywood. Then Pat put on a layer of Skimcoat and then Gavi came over today and helped tile the whole thing. My best girlfriend, Jennine helped by watching Sophie and Mac, who coincidentally went Pee-Pee in his potty today and was very excited with him self. Yeah for Mommy too. But back to the tiles, I do have to say, it looks fabulous! We are next planing on hard wood floors for the living room and hallway. Summer job i think?
This is a picture I copied from The Internet. I didn't take this or developed it all cool like this. I'm a Mom and a cook, and that's basically it. For now. The super creative side of me is on hold, till the kids are older. I am enjoying my thoughts and how i will explode and start my little revolution again one day. For now plodding and planning is my thing. And cooking and of course Mom hood. So low and behold, it happened. A tiny bit of creativity has slipped out. And exploded on my walls. PAINT. loads of color, but i love it. It is dark here in Oregon. I needed some happiness to combat these winter blues. The colors are everywhere, aqua, orange. I am so excited and loving my little "circus" life. Since we have moved out of the bay area I am obsessed with seasons and basically weather. We didn't really have that there. Slightly better then the SO Cal folks. (Quick question; do people from So Cal really call it So Cal?) But just more rain really. I observe the clouds more then ever. The dead trees, hibernating. The wilted frost stricken shrubs, perched outside my window. The still sidewalks, and the lack of buzzing bees. I love all of it, sunny summers, that aren't horrible hot. I do not like hot. I like sun, but not HOT sun. Oh, the spring is so beautiful here, sunny and cold. I like that the best. Spring in SF is basically summer in SF. only 60 instead of 70. The fall is orange and yellow and warm, and the winter is gloomy and depressing. I find it funny there is a "disorder" about this, appropiately called SAD, Seasonal affective disorder. Anyone can get SAD, experts are not sure what causes SAD, but they think it may be caused by a lack of sunlight.
