blank check of $700 billion

We are ignoring the wealth gap that has widened to Great Depression proportions despite increased national productivity.
US Census Bureau and US Bureau of Labor Statistics show that from 1973 to 2005, the bottom 20% saw a 3% increase in their incomes while the top .01% received a 531% raise. The social compact forged in the aftermath of the 1930’s Great Depression that ensured working people would share in the wealth they create has been broken. The true crisis in our nation is escalating income inequality.
“Bush, keep your damned hands out of our pockets! Wall Street has enough money; let them pay for their own mess!”

Peter Camejo Dies

Third-party political activist Peter Camejo, a perennial candidate for state and national office who helped pioneer the financial market niche of socially responsible investments, died Saturday. He was 68.
Active in the Free Speech Movement and in protests against the Vietnam War as a student at UC Berkeley in the late 1960s, Mr. Camejo landed on then-Gov. Ronald Reagan's list of the 10 most dangerous people in California. School officials eventually expelled him, two quarters shy of a degree.
Peter Camejo Article
Among the many causes Peter forcefully championed were a living wage, healthcare for all, and making the US the world leader in renewable energy. He was also a passionate advocate for electoral reform, pressing for proportional representation and instant run-off voting (allows voters to rank their top choices) in an effort to overturn the “200-year-old dysfunctional money-dominated winner take-all system that disrespects the will of the people.”

benefits of placenta for postpartum wellness

Matthew McConaughey says the birth of his son will help bring a little joy to others in the world someday.
After the birth of his son Levi on July 7, he buried the placenta in an orchard to replicate an aboriginal ritual he had seen in Australia.
“It’s going to bear some wonderful fruit,” “When I was in Australia, they had a placenta tree that was on the river,” he added. “It was gorgeous.”
“All the placentas of all that tribe, all that clan, whatever aboriginal tribe that was, all the placentas went under that one tree and it was this huge behemoth of just health and strength.”
“This tree was just growing taller and stronger above the rest of Mother Nature around it.”
I had a friend in high school who's mom did this, she planted it under her cherry tree. Here i thought it was a "Berkeley" thing. Next time, Matthew, put it in the fridge. Placenta benefits

ponder this

this is the typical response to my enquiry:
If you had to lose one of your five senses which would you give up?...I think it would have to be smell.
For me it's no question. Taste. I love smells. WAY more then taste. What about touch? Or sight? Or even hearing. Having little children i can honestly say no! I would be so sad if i couldn't hear their little voices. But do i really need to taste them? Imagine i could eat leafy greens all day and never crave all that fried/chocolate yummyness. Well i might still crave it. I could have a nibble instead of a whole lot.

grocery store? or so much more...

This is me missing the bay area.
Well, not exactly. I mean you have the hills, all covered in houses and trees. the coast, like the cliffs of Dover, only in California. the wine country, simple out of a movie. The food, we don't have a decent restaurant here. it kind of sucks. Luckily we can't afford to go out and we have 2 small kids. the history, all the crazies. i do love diversity. the people! Including my self sometimes. SAN FRAN!!! Outside of Oakland, one of the prettiest cities in the US. Yes, i have been to hundreds of them Thanks to my motorcycling across the country parents. And sense of adventure.
But also you have a little grocery store named Trader Joe's.
Which we DO NOT have here in Corvallis.
Some words that come to mind... natural ingredients, inspiring flavors, unconventional, interesting products, everyday basics, imported cheeses, organic produce. i do miss my T.J.'s
And my home. And all my friends.

She is tough, calculating, photogenic and female

Know the difference between George Bush and Sarah Palin? Lipstick. (click me)

more questions for Palin
§ Suppose your 14-year-old daughter Willow is brutally raped in her bedroom by an intruder. She becomes pregnant and wants an abortion. Could you tell the parents of America why you think your child and their children should be forced by law to have their rapists' babies?
§ You say you don't believe global warming is man-made. Could you tell us what scientists you've spoken with or read who have led you to that conclusion? What do you think the 2,500 scientists of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change are getting wrong?
§ If you didn't try to fire Wasilla librarian Mary Ellen Baker over her refusal to consider censoring books, why did you try to fire her?
§ Forty-seven million Americans lack health insurance. John Goodman, who has advised McCain on healthcare, has proposed redefining them as covered because, he says, anyone can get care at an ER. Do you agree with him?
§ What is the function of the Federal Reserve?
§ Cindy and John McCain say you have experience in foreign affairs because Alaska is next to Russia. When did you last speak with Prime Minister Putin, and what did you talk about?
§ You are a big fan of President Bush, so why didn't you mention him even once in your convention speech?
§ McCain says cutting earmarks and waste will make up for revenues lost by making the tax cuts permanent. Experts say that won't wash. Balancing the Bush tax cuts plus new ones proposed by McCain would most likely mean cutting Medicare, Medicaid or Social Security. Which would you cut?
§ You're suing the federal government to have polar bears removed from the endangered species list, even as Alaska's northern coastal ice is melting and falling into the sea. Can you explain the science behind your decision?
§ You've suggested that God approves of the Iraq War and the Alaska pipeline. How do you know?

And one last thing,
damn you for making me like Paris Hilton for almost a minute

end of summer life

Sophie Mai is back at school. Her last year of pre-school. Pat and I like to say it's her last year of childhood. When asked why we didn't let her go on ahead to Kindergarten. See the cut off date is Sept. 1st. I know she's incredible smart but i feel why would we even consider skipping her ahead!
It blows our minds parents would do this. Why rush her into something she will never ever get back. Her CHILDHOOD. I say give her or them another year. She will be 18 1/2when she graduates class of 2022. Which is funny (i have a thing for the #2) Also Mac will be right there in school with her, class of 2024. Man that seems so far away.
Pat leaves for Texas on Saturday. For work. He loves his job and they are flying him all over the place. He's going to Alaska in the spring. I hate being away from him. I don't function as well. He keeps me focused. I'm gonna be drinking beer eating ice cream and watching TV. Late. Wait, that's what i already do. Not really, but it is a fantasy. To have nothing to do. No dishes etc. This house we're putting a bid on Friday, has a dish washer. OMG! How do i even use this machine? Also we don't have many dishes , so i feel all our dishes will be in the washer. I either will never use it or i will have to buy more dishes. Either way i like being primitive. No garbage disposal. No TV. (reception) We have videos only. Not that i don't like the TV, I just don't have the time to watch it. I miss the 80's as far as TV goes.
I like it simple i guess.

How can people who support execution call themselves pro-life

They are anti-choice.

Palin Pastor: Terrorism v Israel Due To Jews Rejecting Jesus
Palin is an extremist and just how extreme is now starting to become apparent.

From reproductive choice, to LGBT rights, to gun control, to science we have to get out information to independents about how extreme her positions are.
Do terrorist attacks on Israel, as recently preached in Sarah Palin's current church, amount to divine judgment on Jews for refusing to accept Jesus as "Lord and savior" ? Does Palin concur with Jews For Jesus head David Brickner in this belief ? Does she think Jews carry some collective spiritual taint ? (for more of the entire sermon in question, see YouTube segment at the end of this post. I'll try to put up the whole thing when I get a chance.) Does Rachel Plain agree with Wasilla Bible Church head pastor Larry Kroon, that God will punish America for rampant immorality ?

She's So Hot...Boom!

i am a little "obsessed" with this right now.
it just makes me smile.

look carefully, CROWS! They are drunk off our remaining fermented cherries. They are so loud and rowdy. Their bigger then our cats. Today I counted 25. I hate this tree now. It drops stinky cherries all day and night. On our bedroom roof. Mac says "did you hear something?" "listen, mom, did you hear something." This tree needs to go. It is just too big.
